Who is OPREG and how was it formed?

At the 2007 AGM, PAC invited individuals who had expressed interest in pursuing regulation to participate in an ad hoc meeting. From this discussion, several of the participants from Ontario began to research and educate themselves regarding the Ontario regulation environment. Out of this, the Ontario interest group was formed.

Participants bring: perspectives from a range of practice settings (multi-disciplinary clinics, independent practitioners, franchise locations etc), experience with PAC board, committees and insurance industry liaison, varying levels of practice experience.

OPREG is a small working group, highly goal oriented and non bureaucratic in structure. We have recently added liaison members - from the PAC board and administration, the College and from eastern and western provinces – to our teleconference meetings. This approach will help build knowledge and capacity across the country.

Mechanisms for the appointment and replacement of members are being formalized and will soon be distributed. In the meantime, Ontario pedorthists with an interest in contributing to the OPREG workplan are welcome to contact us at
